SLCN Specialist Teacher Network

9 November @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

The NAPLIC Specialist Teacher group provides a support network for all specialist teachers, including those who work within school settings and those who are in centrally based teams.

For a final academic year, we are continuing theme related to developing both your own skills and knowledge in literacy skills for those with DLD and also considering how we support other school staff to develop theirs. The particular focus for this year will be on comprehension (both listening and reading).

In a slight change to our usual format, Session one (9.11.26) will be an opportunity for you to consider how you identify when pupils are having comprehension difficulties, what resources, strategies and interventions you recommend, and how you monitor the impact of the support. We will run some of this session through facilitated breakout rooms. Please bring your ideas to share.

If you have not been able to attend any of the sessions from the past two years, the presentations / handout notes / detailed breakout room feedback notes are freely available for all NAPLIC members. If you are not a member and would like to be, please follow this link https://www.naplic.org.uk/membership/

We look forward to welcoming all current and new attendees to our first session this academic year on Monday 9 November 2026
