SLCN Specialist Teacher Network

8 June @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

The NAPLIC Specialist Teacher group provides a support network for all specialist teachers, including those who work within school settings and those who are in centrally based teams.

The theme for this academic year is related to developing both your own skills and knowledge in literacy skills for those with DLD and also considering how we support other school staff to develop theirs. Professor Maggie Snowling presented her research in this area in session one (October 25) and we met in session two (January 26) to share peer knowledge and experiences in breakout rooms.

Session three (8.6.26) is an opportunity to share with others how you have used your newly gained learning to develop your own practice and that of others. This will include a short, facilitated breakout session, and three presentations,

*OxEd assessment tools and NELI programmes – Ashley Blake

*NAPLIC’s DLD audit for schools and teaching teams – Lesley Cherriman

*The SEND White Paper – the headlines, and how we responded – Sarah Earl

If you have not been able to attend either of the previous two sessions, the presentation / handout notes / detailed breakout room feedback notes are freely available for all NAPLIC members. If you are not a member and would like to be, please follow this link https://www.naplic.org.uk/membership/

We look forward to welcoming all current and new attendees to our third and final session this academic year on Monday 8 June 2026
