SLCN Specialist teacher network

12 January @ 4:00 am – 5:30 pm

The NAPLIC teacher event for the Spring Term will be a facilitated opportunity to share your knowledge, strategies, resources and interventions, and learn from your peers, on the topic of DLD and the impact it may have on reading, writing and other aspects of literacy. In October,  Professor Maggie Snowling  introduced and explored the theme in a detailed and thought provoking session.

In session two we will further consider what we, as Specialist Teachers, can do to support greater understanding of the link between spoken language and literacy in schools across all age ranges. We will aim to further develop understanding of how DLD can impact upon literacy acquisition and consider the best support strategies, interventions and approaches to aid DLD learners.

All NAPLIC members can freely access Maggie Snowling’s PPT from the October event on the NAPLIC website. To join NAPLIC, please see the information on our website https://www.naplic.org.uk/membership/  Individual memberships cost from £20, Group memberships (up to 5 members) from £60.

Please join us and join NAPLIC to share the wealth of experience in our specialist teacher community on Monday 12 January 2026 at 4pm .
