Professor Debra Myhill from Exeter University presented (via Zoom) on 28th September 2020. Her talk specifically addressed the role of talk in the classroom, so will be of interest to those developing students’ oracy as well as those who work with students with speech, language and communication needs. Oxford University Press have released a report highlighting the vocabulary gap that exists for many students, its impacts, the concerns teachers have and what can be done to close the gap.
