Government funding available for TA-run spoken language intervention for Reception children

Today the government announced that they will be providing £9 million funding to train Teaching Assistants to run the Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) Programme. NELI is an evidenced based small group intervention targeting spoken language. Read about NELI here. Read today’s government announcement here.

This is an exciting development and an important acknowledgement that spoken language plays a key part in the post-covid recovery.
